Songkran water festival is one of Thai New Year traditions and an annual event in April. This is an occasion when people splash and pour water as a way to wash away all the bad luck and negative things. In 2022, the Songkran celebration will take place from 13th to 15th April and despite the COVID-19 pandemic but celebrations must comply with disease control measures.
According to the Department of Disease Control in Thailand, Songkran festivals will be allowed to take place if the number of new infection cases is not over 30,000 cases.

#1: Songkran by gCircuit 2022 (updated) – the biggest gay party in Asia
GCIRCUIT in Thailand has been organizing the biggest gay party event since 2007 and Songkran by GCIRCUIT is the most prominent gay party in Asia.

You can join the Songkran party in many other places near the Maya shopping center like Thapae Gate, the moat, and near the Ping River. At those spots, feel free to join the water fight and enjoy the festival!

3. PHUKET
#1: Laguna Phuket Revive 555 Festival (Updating)

4. HUA HIN

- Venue: All over Hua Hin
- What to expect: Songkran festival in Hua Hin is celebrated in a more gentle way. Splashing water is taken politely and carefully. Hence, if you want to experience the water festival in a soft way, Hua Hin is perfect place. Moreover, there is parade and Songkran procession that help tourists understand more about some aspects of traditional Thai culture.

5. KOH SAMUI
- Time: From 13th April 2022 to 15th April 2022
- Venue and what to expect:
- For modern experience, Chaweng Beach is one of the choices where you can join many pool parties, also there are many bars and clubs around to enjoy the festival energy.
- For traditional experience, let head to the west coast, where you can find yourself joining in the water splash in a traditional way.
- If you go with your family or small children, the north coast will be a suitable destination where the water splash level is just right and the atmosphere is comfortable.

6. UDON THANI
Last year’s Songkran party in UD town was extremely fun, it’s worth joining again this year.

- What to expect: EDM concert, foam party for everyone and alcohol-free, more than 100 food stalls
- Ticket price: 100 baht per night, free for those coming before 9 p.m
