Most people who travel to Thailand for the first time often choose Phuket or Koh Phi Phi as a destination because it is really a popular place to escape to the tropical country in Asia. What many people don’t know, however, is that Koh Samui, the largest island in the Chumphon Islands, also has almost everything Phuket has to offer, and you can still enjoy the clean white sand beaches, no hustle, and bustle, and unique nightlife.
With famous local and international cuisines, excellent diving spots, and several peaceful religious and cultural sites for you to explore, Koh Samui welcomes everyone to visit.

4. What to do on Koh Samui 2022?
#1 Visting beautiful beaches in Koh Samui 2022
- Maenam Beach:
Maenam Beach has a fairly quiet feature with golden sand (you don’t misread it as yellow sand, not white sand). The beach is still quite unspoiled beautiful and quiet. The price of rooms here is also lower than on other beaches.
- Chaweng Beach:
The most famous beach on Koh Samui for its long, fine sand, but that means crowding and service prices are also higher than at other beaches.

- Bophut Beach:
If you choose a resort, this is the most reasonable and quiet choice, but the services are still adequate and the room price is in the mid-range suitable for most travelers.
The plus point of Bophut beach is that on weekends there is a night market selling handicrafts and food. The price depends on the place, about 100-140 THB per person. It is also a reason for you to consider renting a hotel near this beach.
#2 Visiting Koh Tao Island
This is an island specializing in scuba diving services. In addition to swimming and enjoying the scenery, you can use scuba diving services with prices ranging from 200-400 THB. Under the clear water, you can see sea creatures, coral reefs, and all kinds of aquatic life with attractive colors.
However, you also need to consider in advance that Koh Tao island is quite far. You should stay for a few days because traveling during the day will be tiring. The gentle blue sea is very suitable for families, especially with small children. However, in Koh Tao, many taxis going in and out can be dangerous for beachgoers. When you go to the beach, do look around to see if there is a taxi coming or not.
#3 Visiting Big Buddha (Big Buddha statue)
The Big Buddha, located in the Northeast area of the island, is considered the most important attraction in Koh Samui. The statue is 12m high and built on a high hill so you can see it from afar. A religious tourist destination, so you need to pay attention to your clothes when coming here.
#4 Visiting Wat Khunaram
This temple is much less prominent when compared to its brother Wat Phra Yai. However, the unique feature making visitors visit this temple is the mummy of a Zen master. Placed in a zazen posture, visitors believe that those who come here will be blessed with health and good things.
#5 Visiting Angthong National Marine Park
Angthong National Marine Park is one of Thailand’s largest national parks and nature reserves. From this park, you can see the beautiful natural scenery of more than 40 islands in the middle of the sea. Along with that are the towering limestone cliffs and the rolling mountainous landscape. You also have the opportunity to go trekking and climb up to the observatory to glimpse the beautiful scenery of the park from above.
In addition, it is recommended to go around Angthong by kayak. This way you can see the scenery of Angthong slowly while feeling the clear and cool water below. You can also participate in scuba diving to discover the mysterious and colorful world beneath the clear blue water of Angthong.
#6 Checking in Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks
To the south of Koh Samui are two fancy rocks Hin Ta Hin Yai. Shaped like the “sensitive” parts of a man and a woman. These two rocks are always the top photography locations of tourists when coming to Koh Samui.

#7 Short trekking to see Na Muang Waterfall
Na Muang Waterfall is located deep in the jungle. To reach this waterfall, you will go through a not too long but very interesting trekking trip with friends. Even riding an elephant in the forest gives you a very new experience. The smell of forest trees, the smell of the earth, the rays of the sun through the leaves, and the chirping birds will help you immerse yourself in the green nature, and dispel all your troubles.
