1. Where exactly is Emerald Pool and Blue Pool in Krabi?

Emerald Pool, Blue Pool are famous green lakes in Klong Thom National Forest, in Krabi, Thailand. This tourist area is about 60km from the center of Krabi.
2. How to get there from Bangkok
- Take a flight
Krabi province is about 850 km from Bangkok. To get to Krabi, you can fly from Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City and then on board a connecting flight at Don Mueang Airport (Bangkok), it will take about 1 hour more flight to Krabi International Airport. In addition, you can also travel by bus or taxi easily. If taking a bus from Bangkok to Krabi costs about 700 baht, 12 hours long. The bus here does not have a bed, only reclining seats.
Arriving at Krabi airport, there will be bus, taxi, van, tuk tuk, songthew (local taxi) ticket offices at the airport. You just need to tell them the hotel address and buy a ticket. Tickets can be bargained against the fare they write on the sign. From the airport, move to Ao Nang by songthew car for 150 baht, only 30 minutes away.
- Rent a motorbike
To rent a motorbike you need a passport, or you can bring your CMT and a scanned copy of your passport. Renting a small motorbike is 150Bath, a big car is 200Bath, you add 75 baht for gas each to go nearly 40km (out of town and Ao Nang area). If the above method does not work, then you have to rent a car at the hotel.
These natural lakes are located deep in the Khlong Thom primeval forest in Krabi. This tourist area is about 60km from the center of Krabi. You can rent a motorbike yourself to go there and buy an entrance ticket for 200 baht/person, with a 20 baht parking fee.
Alternatively, if you are not familiar with the road, you should also buy a “half day” (half day) or “full day” (one day) tour from tourist offices around town with prices ranging from 600 baht to 1000 baht. 3. Hot Spring in Krabi: a must visit
Before coming to the Emerald pool and Blue pool, you should stop by Hot Spring to soak in the clear natural hot springs in the middle of the rainforest. 4. Emerald Pool Krabi
After relaxing with Hot Spring, you can continue to move to the area with Emerald pool a few kilometers away. There are three nature trails that lead to this charming The Emerald Pool:
– The first is an 800 meter road directly from the main entrance, this is the shortest road which has a mesmerizing scenery because of its rich green color.
– The second is through Thung TieoSa Morakot point, which is about 1400 meters long and more challenging. It’s ideal for birdwatchers and nature lovers. This road is a bit bumpy and difficult to go as to test your resilient will, but in return for your sweat, the nature here gives you extremely wonderful scenery.

Emerald pool is divided into 3 lakes: Sa Kaew, Sa Morakot and Sa Nam Pud. This area is surrounded by jungle with many interesting plants. Blue Pool (blue lake) is “hidden” by nature in the forest. From Emerald Pool, you need to walk another 400m along a signposted trail under dense forest trees to reach Blue Pool. You will not be allowed to swim here because this lake is really very deep and potentially dangerous at the bottom of the lake.

The blue water color of Blue Pool makes this place mysterious and is the most attractive point here.
